The YA Buddy Program is an extension of our Breakthrough T1D Mentor Program. Our Youth Ambassadors (kids ages 6-18 that have type 1 diabetes and represent Breakthrough T1D at events) help other kids who have been more recently diagnosed with T1D. Our YA Buddies can be a great support and inspiration to newly diagnosed kids and to those facing new challenges.
In order for your child to get paired up with a “YA Buddy”, please fill out the following profile: YA Buddy Information Form and return to: Karine Roettgers, Outreach Manager at kroettgers@BreakthroughT1D.org or 1215 4th Ave, Suite 1100 Seattle, WA 98161. Once we receive your profile, we can match you up with a mentor that you can start to build a relationship with any communication you are comfortable with (through email, social media, phone, etc.).
