About the Bolton Family

Our Fund a Cure Family is the Bolton Family – Mari, age 9, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was just 6 years old. Her mom, Angie (otherwise known as Mari’s pancreas) and Dad, Jesse (ICU doctor) received a Breakthrough T1D Bag of Hope delivered to their front porch, the very evening Mari was diagnosed and were so impacted, they jumped right in! Since then, they have had walk teams, led community events to gather other T1D families, ran on behalf of Breakthrough T1D in marathons and have been strong advocates for important legislation that affects those we love who live with type one diabetes!
