Are you living with type 1 diabetes and looking to build leadership skills, make lifelong friendships, and make a difference in your community? This program was created for you.
What is the Youth Ambassador Program?
The Youth Ambassador Program is open to youth ages 5 to 18 (Kindergarten through 12th grade) and is designed to empower young people with T1D. Through the program, Youth Ambassadors have the opportunity to:
- Share their T1D story with confidence
- Develop leadership and advocacy skills
- Connect with other youth living with T1D
- Participate in exciting Breakthrough T1D events throughout the school year
Whether a young person is just starting to navigate life with T1D or has been managing it for years, the program offers a supportive space to grow, connect, and lead.
How to apply
Applications are open through September 13, 2026. The application is quick to complete and open to youth across Southeast Florida who meet the age requirements above.
Returning Youth Ambassadors
Current 2025–2026 Youth Ambassadors and Youth Ambassador Board members do not need to reapply. We will be in touch soon with this year’s meeting schedule.
