Who we’re recruiting

Students needing community service hours. Our Southeast Florida chapter team can verify hours for school or graduation requirements.

Companies and community groups. Corporate volunteering in Palm Beach works well at this event! Businesses, service clubs, congregations, and student organizations are all welcome.

Individuals and families. No T1D connection needed. Several roles are suited to families volunteering together.

Please note: Anyone under the age of 18 years old must have an adult chaperone present during the duration of the volunteer service.

Why the Walk matters

  • Approximately 8.7 million people worldwide live with type 1 diabetes, a condition that requires management every hour of every day.
  • Breakthrough T1D has played a role in nearly every major T1D breakthrough in history, from the HbA1c test to today’s automated insulin delivery systems.
  • There is no fundraising minimum for Walk participants; funds raised support research driving toward cures and programs that improve everyday life with T1D now.

As the leading global type 1 diabetes research and advocacy organization, Breakthrough T1D helps make everyday life with type 1 diabetes better while driving toward cures.
