George Grunberger, MD, FACP, MACE is the chairman of Grunberger Diabetes Institute in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Dr. Grunberger, an experienced diabetologist, is also Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and of Molecular Medicine & Genetics at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Professor of Internal Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, as well as Visiting Professor at First Faculty of Medicine at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic).
He is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (Past National and Michigan Chapter President), the American Diabetes Association, The Endocrine Society, European Association for Study of Diabetes, and American College of Physicians. He serves on the national board of directors of Children With Diabetes.
Dr. Grunberger has been committed to Breakthrough T1D’s, formerly JDRF, mission as a practitioner and researcher for more than 45 years. He has served on the Chapter board of directors and was instrumental in establishing Breakthrough T1D’s TypeOneNation Summit in 2007; serving as chair for the annual educational event, which is one of the largest in the nation.
