Fund A Cure with Jerry Baier | Breakthrough T1D Wisconsin Gala 2026
WI
About
You have heard the story before: my son Jeremy and both of his sons (Jaxton – 12; and Jameson –15) have had Type 1 diabetes (T1D) for some time. Both Jameson and Jaxton are handling this challenging life situation with a maturity beyond their years.
The picture to the left shows the happy foursome on a nice day this past summer. Baseball and golf are very important to the Baier Boys!
Jeremy and his family are the reason I remain active within the Breakthrough T1D Wisconsin Chapter.
Breakthrough T1D is focused on research with two principal objectives:
- Cure T1D by restoring the body’s ability to make insulin and stopping T1D before it occurs or providing insulin independence through replacement with insulin-producing cells
- Improve lives by keeping people with T1D as healthy as possible until cures are found by advancing new T1D resources, technologies, and therapies.
Breakthrough T1D has had a hand in the development of nearly every T1D advancement over the past 50 years. They will continue to fund the best research until this disease is a thing of the past. Breakthrough T1D invested $146 million in research in its last fiscal year, and through its influence within the public and private sectors, they helped raise another $375 million
So, I continue in my efforts to raise funds for T1D research. There is something called “Fund a Cure” at the Gala. People raise their paddles at different contribution levels ranging from $25,000 down to $100. In other words, cash contributions at any level are much appreciated!
I hope you will be able to attend the Gala — and appreciate your consideration!
