The Breakthrough T1D Community Summit is an educational and networking opportunity for all those impacted by type 1 diabetes (T1D). This year, the Breakthrough T1D Community Summit will bring our community together to learn from T1D experts, hear about the latest breakthroughs in T1D research, meet vendor exhibitors, connect with others impacted by T1D, and more. We look forward to having you join us! Registration is required.

El Community Summit (Encuentro Comunitario) de Breakthrough T1D constituye una oportunidad educativa y de conexión para todas las personas afectadas por la diabetes tipo 1 (DT1). Este año, el Community Summit de Breakthrough T1D reunirá a nuestra comunidad para que aprendamos de expertos en DT1, nos enteremos de los descubrimientos más recientes en el campo de la investigación de DT1, conozcamos a representantes de la compañías exhibidoras, conectemos con otras personas afectadas por la DT1 y más. ¡Esperamos que nos acompañe! Event Day Information

  • Parents, we are focused on offering a safe and secure environment and will need your help with a few things.

    You must register your child for the Youth/Teen program using one of the following ticket types

    • YOUTH TICKET for children grades kindergarten through 7th grade.
    • TEEN TICKET for children 8th through 12th grade

    Parents, please note the following:

    • Parents are not permitted to leave the Breakthrough T1D Community Summit premises without their child(ren).
    • Please review both the photo release and liability waiver
    • Parents/Guardians will be contacted by text or call if your child needs help with their T1D management during the program.

  • Padres, estamos enfocados en ofrecer un entorno seguro y necesitaremos su ayuda con algunas cosas.

    Debe registrar a su hijo en el programa para jóvenes/adolescentes utilizando uno de los siguientes tipos de boletos

    • BOLETO JOVEN para niños desde kindergarten hasta 7 grado.
    • BOLETO ADOLESCENTE para niños de 8 a 12 grado

    9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

    • Vendor Fair – talk with Dexcom, Tandem, Insulet, Medtronic, and more!

    10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

    • Breakout Sessions – Join into groups to discuss various topics with experts.

    11:00 a.m.

    • Lunch, provided by Newport Ribs, opens

    11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Charlie Kimball

American Former Race Car Driver

Charlie Kimball has always been driven—both on and off the racetrack. In 2007, Kimball was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and was forced to abandon his racing program mid-season. After his surprising diagnosis, Kimball returned to the cockpit in 2008 and claimed a podium finish in his first race back in the car. A trailblazer in motorsports, he made history as the first licensed driver with diabetes to race in the Indianapolis 500 and to win an IndyCar race, proving that obstacles can be transformed into opportunities. Since stepping out of the cockpit in 2021, Charlie has seamlessly transitioned into broadcasting, officiating, consulting, and keynote speaking.
