WALK DAY NEWS

Time: Check-in begins 8:00 a.m.
Walk begins at 9:00 a.m.
The Central Arkansas Walk is a rain or shine event.
There will be no parking on Willow Street. Please park in the large parking lot located off Broadway Avenue.
All participants must enter through the Main Gate at the corner of Broadway Avenue and the Broadway Bridge.

Check-In Information:
When you arrive, head to the “Donation Station” (Registration) area to turn in your Walker Collection Envelope. Please print and complete the Walker Donation Information Form and include it in your envelope, it is essential to confirm all your offline donations. The Walker Collection Envelope should also be completed with:

• Your Team Name and Team Captain’s name
• Amount in envelope
• Please remember, each walker should turn in their own envelope.
• If you have not registered online, please complete your contact information. Keep in mind, home address is preferred in order to expedite the delivery of Breakthrough T1D post-Walk information and prizes.
Also, don’t forget:
• Checks should be made payable to Breakthrough T1D
• If you have a large amount of cash or coins to turn in on Walk Day, we ask that you convert it to a personal check and make a note in the memo section that cash has been converted to check.

The Walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. following the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting. Walkers will be walking on the River Trail, crossing the Clinton Presidential Bridge, and turning around in the front of the Clinton Library to return to Dickey-Stephens Park.

Food, Fun and Entertainment:
The scheduled Walk Day festivities include an exciting program hosted by Walk Corporate Chairman, Frank Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer of The Athletic Clubs, along with music, dancing and entertainment provided by Becky Rogers of B98.5. There will be a team t-shirt contest prior to the walk. Please bring one extra t-shirt to hang on the clothes line. One member of each participating team will go on stage during the contest, which will begin around 8:30 a.m. Be sure to visit our vendor areas which will include diabetes education, several pharmaceutical representatives, and Breakthrough T1D information.  Breakthrough T1D will also host fun children’s activities including face painting and a “Kid’s Korner.”

Hot dogs and snacks will be provided post-Walk.

Top Teams:
The top 5 family and top 5 corporate teams will be picked at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17. The winning team captains will receive a notification email. The 10 winning teams will share a special pavilion on Walk Day!

Fundraising Awards:
The deadline for turning in Walk money to Breakthrough T1D for awards and fundraising rewards eligibility is Friday, October 10.

Incentive Prizes

$250+ – Breakthrough T1D Incentive Program

Donor Receipts:
Donors who have written a check to Breakthrough T1D for $250+ will receive a letter of receipt from Breakthrough T1D.

Fundraising Rewards:
Walk fundraising rewards information is delivered to eligible participants approximately 10 weeks after the Walk. You must opt in to the fundraising rewards program. If you did not opt in when you registered for the Walk, you may still do so in your Participant Center. The deadline is Friday, October 10. Ordering information will be sent with your fundraising rewards eligibility information.
