Dear Friends,
We are proud to serve as the 2024 Fund a Cure Family for Breakthrough T1D Alabama’s Annual Gala. Our family’s journey with type 1 diabetes began in 2015 when Matthew received his diagnosis. After five years of living with the disease, he was joined in his fight by his cousin Violet who was diagnosed in 2020. Over the years, our family has been involved in efforts to promote and fund research, education, and a cure for this life-changing and endlessly frustrating disease. Supporting Breakthrough T1D allows us to make progress on every front in the battle against T1D.
Breakthrough T1D is the preeminent T1D research and advocacy organization in the US. Through multiple programs, Breakthrough T1D funds research for new technologies, medications, and potential curative therapies for T1D. It also funds advocacy efforts to assist in insulin affordability, secure government funding, and educate families struggling with the day-to-day realities of the disease.
