Kellie and Randy Johnson have been dedicated supporters of Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) for many years, actively volunteering to raise awareness and funds for research in their community. They have previously chaired the JDRF Walk in The Woodlands, demonstrating their commitment to the cause. Their daughters, Jacquelyn and Jillian, have both lived with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) for over two decades—Jacquelyn was diagnosed at just two years old, while Jillian received her diagnosis at six. Over the years, the Johnsons have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of research on treatment and technology for managing this lifelong condition. They eagerly anticipate the day when Type 1 Diabetes becomes Type None.

The Dyer and Feeney Families

Honorees

Chris and Erin Dyer have been passionate supporters of Breakthrough T1D since their daughter, Devin, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just four years old. Erin’s parents, Dan and Ronda Feeney, understood the challenges of this diagnosis all too well, as Ronda has lived with Type 1 diabetes for over three decades.

Their family is immensely grateful to Breakthrough T1D for its role in the significant improvements in the quality of life for those living with Type 1 diabetes, and they eagerly anticipate the day when they can say that Devin and Ronda HAD Type 1 diabetes.

Patricia Wright

Meredith & Fielding Cocke Visionary Award

Patricia Wright has been engaged in the Type 1 fight since her daughter, Molly, was diagnosed in 2001 at the age of 11. A long-time board member and former President, she has built walk teams, rode for the Cure and been active in Gala, including several years as auction chair. She serves on the Chapter’s Mission Board and has joined with several friends to compile the gala auction items from the Women of Bentwater on Lake Conroe. Her daughter Lindsay Brett is currently on the Board, Molly serves on the marketing committee and husband Larry and son-in-law Clay have been active supporters.

Victoria and Chris Wright

Fund A Cure Family

Victoria & Christopher Wright have had a unique journey together. Each was diagnosed with type one diabetes in early childhood, Victoria at 3 years old in 1998 and Chris at 2 years old in 1999. They grew up as good friends through the T1D community and fell in love as young adults before getting married in 2019. They each have chosen to focus their careers on helping those in the diabetes community. Victoria is a nurse practitioner and certified diabetes care & education specialist. Chris is an electrical engineer and bioengineering researcher, working to develop treatments and a cure for T1D. They have been longtime supporters of Breakthrough T1D. They are honored to be a part of this year’s gala and to help turn type one into type NONE!
