About
Alexandria’s Fund A Cure Story
At just two years old, Alexandria was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes after several days of concerning symptoms that quickly escalated into an emergency trip to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. That day marked the beginning of a lifelong journey with T1D — one that requires around-the-clock monitoring, carb counting, insulin dosing, and constant vigilance.
Life with T1D affects every part of Alexandria’s day. Something as simple as playing, eating, or sleeping can become complicated when blood sugar levels rise too high or drop too low. Middle-of-the-night alarms, urgent juice boxes, and device changes have become part of our family’s routine, yet Alexandria faces each challenge with incredible bravery.
She now wears an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor, tools that make daily management more manageable but still require constant attention. T1D remains an incurable and serious disease, and managing it well is essential for long-term health.
This year, our family is honored to serve as the 2026 Fund A Cure Family at the Breakthrough T1D Promise Gala. We are sharing Alexandria’s story in hopes of raising critical funds for research, better treatments, and — one day — cures.
As we look to our North Star for strength and guidance, we invite you to support Alexandria and all those living with Type 1 Diabetes through a gift to our Fund A Cure campaign. Your generosity brings us closer to a future with cures and means more to our family than we can ever express.
Thank you for standing with Alexandria.
