Dear family and friends,

JDRF may have a new name, but our mission is not only the same—it’s stronger than ever! Many of you have supported our family in so many ways since Orin’s Type 1 diabetes diagnosis in 2018, and we are so very grateful.

Breakthrough T1D, the leading global T1D research and advocacy organization, has played a crucial role in nearly every major T1D breakthrough in history. No organization does more to improve everyday life with T1D—from therapy development and access, to expanding research, advocacy, and community support. Amazing, right?!

The advances in technology for managing T1D continue to amaze us, and there are no signs of slowing down. These innovations allow Orin to live a more “normal” life in the face of an otherwise abnormal, frustrating, never-ending challenge that he must manage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I am now serving my 6th and final year on this incredibly hard-working and inspiring Tennessee Board, and I have loved every minute. Knowing I’ve played even a small part in something so important for Orin and for everyone living with T1D is a wonderful feeling.
