About the Brown Family

As you may know, T1D has profoundly impacted my family. My wife, Christie, my youngest daughter, Marley, and my nephew, Braxton, have all faced the challenges of living with T1D. Christie received her diagnosis just six months into our marriage, which meant adhering to a strict schedule for meals and snacks, frequent finger pricks, and insulin injections with every meal. Thankfully, advancements in technology have introduced continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and insulin pumps, significantly improving their quality of life. However, these advancements are still not enough to provide a “normal” life, free from the risks and complications associated with T1D.

The resilience of my loved ones living with T1D has inspired me to take a more active role in supporting organizations like Breakthrough T1D, which are dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by this condition.

As a family, we invite you to support our mission in honor of Christie, Marley, Braxton, and countless others who aspire to live in a world free from type 1 diabetes. Every contribution plays a vital role in our journey to transform type one into type none, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by this condition.
