This year’s Breakthrough T1D One Night Gala – on February 21^st, 2026 at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond is honoring Hampton Roads’ own Kaddy Hamilton and Stella Waltz.  Following the diagnoses of their sons in 1995 and 2009, respectively, Kaddy and Stella have been involved with Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) for a combined 48 years!

Each have participated in Walks and Galas, served on Chapter Boards and various committees, and volunteered at numerous Breakthrough T1D events, supporting Breakthrough T1D with their time, talents, voice, and treasure. Their commitment to our organization enables us to accelerate scientific advances and bring forward new therapies to keep people with T1D healthier until we can cure T1D.
