Hello, we have been working with BreakthroughT1D (JDRF) since 2006. We have sponsored Walk & Gala and served as Board members meeting so many wonderful families. Julie was diagnosed in 1973 so, like you, we are committed to our end-goal, finding cures for T1D!

We are Eric and Sara Meredith. Sara has been a T1D since 1964, and we have been involved with the BreakthroughT1D (formerly JDRF) Gala since 2011, and previously with the Breakthrough T1D Walk for a Cure. We are so grateful for all the research and advancements that Breakthrough T1D has funded towards the ultimate goal of finding a cure for T1D.

We are proud to serve as the Fund A Cure Family of the 34th Annual Breakthrough T1D Promise Gala. Our daughter Addi received her type 1 diabetes diagnosis in 2013 at age 3. When Addi was diagnosed, we were in complete shock and denial. We believed the doctors gave us the wrong diagnosis. It completely caught us off guard with no preparation of how to manage such a complex and challenging condition.

We have always faced this disease together as a family. Addi has been presented with significant challenges, daily challenges that no child should have to bear. T1D is relentless. It doesn’t take a day off and exploits any weakness in discipline. For this reason, our family is committed to finding a cure for T1D.
