Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by COVID-19, as well as those who are concerned about its impact on the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community.

With the rising incidence of COVID-19 cases across the United States, Breakthrough T1D has made the difficult decision that we will not be holding an in-person gathering for the Breakthrough T1D One Walk Milwaukee, this coming October 3.

Instead, we will be hosting a virtual experience as part of a Breakthrough T1D National Virtual Walk on Sunday, November 1! We believe this decision is in the best interest of our Breakthrough T1D community. In addition, we want to do our part to slow the spread of this outbreak.

While we will not be coming together in person, we are encouraging everyone to join us for a Breakthrough T1D Virtual One Walk on our Facebook newsfeedthroughout the day: https://www.facebook.com/jdrfsoutheasternwisconsin/

We are so excited about the virtual Breakthrough T1D One Walk! Many more details, fundraising challenges and opportunities to tell your T1D story to come.

The weeks and months ahead will be unique and challenging. Let’s fill them with hope and something to look forward to. There is no better time than now to show that our Breakthrough T1D community is truly #strongertogether.
