What an incredible Breakthrough T1D Ride to Cure weekend in beautiful La Crosse, WI we shared in mid-August! Team Wisconsin was well represented by 115 riders & coaches and raised over half of a MILLION dollars for cures for type 1 diabetes research! The event raised over $1.7M in total! On Saturday, August 12, we pedaled miles to mission to celebrate our fundraising and the Breakthrough T1D community. We received a number of honors throughout the weekend we want to give some shout outs to!
- #1 Top Fundraiser Jersey – Jack Gentine raising over $200,500!
- #4 Top Fundraiser Award – Kiley Smith raising over $21,000!
- #2 Top Fundraising Chapter – Team Wisconsin! On WI! We’d also like to give a shoutout to the Breakthrough T1D Illinois team for the friendly neck and neck competition! Having raised over $1M together is incredible!
- Youth Honor Jersey – Talon Zuelsdorf is the future of the Breakthrough T1D Ride and it looks bright!
- Volunteer Honor Jersey – Kris Brueshoff for her dedication to volunteerism on Ride weekend!
- The Smith Family (Carver, Brenda, Kiley & Sydney) for being out lead out rider family for the Ride!
- A big shoutout to Coach Dan Woolf, National Lead Coach and Venue Lead for this event – we appreciate all that you do!
- Kudos to Coach John Niebler for being Deputy Venue Lead and all the work that went into execution!

On Saturday, September 9, twelve riders and five *coaches* will represent Team Wisconsin as they log miles towards mission. The ride will begin and end at Millennium Park and roll through scenic farmland and small townships to beautiful Lake Michigan.
This group has raised an incredible more than $50,000 for cures for T1D and we are so thankful for their efforts! Please join us in thanking them in all they do for Breakthrough T1D! The Grand Rapids Ride will raise over $1.5M in total!
