It is with a very sad and heavy heart that we inform you Stuart Mason passed away April 28, 2012.  Stuart and Flora Mason founded the Breakthrough T1D Nevada Chapter in 1971.  In the early days, the Chapter volunteers worked out of Stuart’s office.  For over 40 years, Stuart and Flora have remained supportive of all of the Chapter’s events.

As a building contractor and owner of Taylor International, Stuart helped to change the landscape of Las Vegas with projects like Caesar’s Palace, The Hilton, Bally’s, the MGM Grand Hotel and Theme Park, the Desert Inn Hotel, the Stratosphere Hotel, and the Venetian.

On behalf of all of us at Breakthrough T1D, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Flora, her sons, Bill and Jim, and the entire Mason family.

To honor Stuart and his family, the Fund A Cure portion of this year’s Gala will be dedicated to his memory.
