Special Edition “Making Waves” Prints Available

Breakthrough T1D certainly made some waves on Friday night at the 2012 Gala.  A very special thanks to Robert Marlon and Lori Skophammer for working with our Youth Ambassadors to create such a beautiful work of art.  Their generous contribution to the 2012 Hope Gala, Art of the Cure Live Auction allowed Breakthrough T1D to generate over $10,000 on this piece of art alone!

Over a period of eight weeks, the young painters, nine to seventeen years old, applied layers of paint to the canvas.  Each had a chance to participate in the process which, at times, required paint brushes, as small as, only a few hairs.  The eager children were schooled in the creative process, painting techniques and team work.  A behind the Scenes video produced by Youth Ambassadors, Reed Gialketsis can be scene by clicking here.
