The Phoenix office hosted their Corporate Recruitment breakfast Thursday, June 21st at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge for the upcoming Walk to Cure Diabetes Celebrating Ron Santo. The event had an all-star line up of guest speakers including; Derrick Hall, the CEO and President of the Arizona Diamondback, who will also serve as the 2012 Corporate Recruitment Chair for the event, Linda Santo-Brown, daughter of the late Ron Santo, Peter Michaelson and Dave Dexter from Sonora Quest Laboratories/Laboratory Sciences of Arizona and the Whyte Family.

A resounding message regarding the importance of partnering with Breakthrough T1D for the Walk to Cure Diabetes Celebrating Ron Santo in an effort to help Cure, Treat and Prevent type 1 diabetes came from each guest speaker. “I was honored to serve as the Corporate Recruitment Chair back in 2008 for the Walk, so when I was asked if I would be willing to serve again for the 2012 walk, I could not say yes fast enough. This is a highly-efficient organization that is dedicated to make a difference in the lives of those facing this disease each and every day, “said Derrick Hall.

Linda Santo-Brown gave a powerful speech about her late-father and Major League Baseball Hall of Fame, Ron Santo and his commitment to Breakthrough T1D. “My father raised over $60 million for Breakthrough T1D during his lifetime, our family is excited to continue the tradition by partnering with the Desert Southwest Chapter for the walk for years to come. We look forward to seeing everyone Saturday, November 3rd at Tempe Town Lake.
