The Desert Southwest Chapter of Breakthrough T1D partnered with Camp Soaring Eagle to offer 10 families the experience of a lifetime! An all inclusive 4-day Family Retreat where families were housed in cabins located on Oak Creek in Sedona, Arizona.

Round the clock medical care was provided via medical staff and counselors. Three delicious meals plus snacks were provided each day along with activities that included a magic show, pink jeep tours, arts and crafts, games, open group discussions, archery, golf clinic, leisure time and family projects were enjoyed by all!

Camp Soaring Eagle didn’t miss a single detail to ensure children, parents and the family unit had time to relax, interact with other families and have fun! Lush scenery and the sound of the creek set the tone for a relaxing experience. Parents were treated to massages and moms were pampered in the heart of Sedona beginning with lunch followed by a fashion show and personal shoppers to dress each mom from head to toe…mom’s came back with a new outfit courtesy of community partners through Camp Soaring Eagle.

On behalf of Breakthrough T1D and our community we are deeply grateful for Camp Soaring Eagle and their community partners; this event was a life changing experience for attendees, staff and volunteers.
