From now until January 31, 2013, when you use your Discover Card to give money to Breakthrough T1D, Discover will match 2 percent of your donation! Whether you are supporting a Breakthrough T1D Walk, Ride, Gala, or other event, paying with Discover will increase your contribution to Breakthrough T1D’s efforts to cure, better treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults at any age. Unrelated to diet or lifestyle, T1D causes lifelong dependence on injected or pumped insulin and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.

Since 1999, Discover has been a partner of the Breakthrough T1D Walk to Cure Diabetes, and its employees and customers participate in a number of programs that raise critically needed funds for T1D research. Discover raised more than $300,000 for Breakthrough T1D last year alone.

The matching donation program is Discover’s newest way of showing its support for Breakthrough T1D. When you visit jdrf.org/donate to make a donation, Discover Card is the default payment option. Simply enter your personal and card account information, and you’ve increased your donation to Breakthrough T1D by 2 percent!
