2018 Vision Gala honoring Don Jensen the CEO and Founder of Jensen Precast
The 2018 Vision Gala, honoring Don Jensen the CEO and Founder of Jensen Precast, at Reno Ballroom in the Silver Legacy Resort Casino raised more than $570,000 on April 28, to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications.
“We are grateful for the incredible support of community and business leaders here in Northern Nevada,” said Tania Violette, Board President of Breakthrough T1D Northern Nevada. “The dollars raised at this year’s event will help lighten the burden on 1.25 million Americans with type 1 diabetes and help us realize our vision of a world without T1D.”
The crowd participated in a silent auction and live auction, bidding on items including a gourmet wild game dinner at Montreux Country Club with Board Member Scott Christy, which sold TWICE for an impressive $5,000 each! Guests also bid on a one-of-a-kind artistic metal fire pit as well as dinner on the 15th hole at the Lakeridge Golf Course with million dollar sunset views.
The silent and live auctions raised a combined $129,194 for Breakthrough T1D in Northern Nevada.
The evening ended with the signature Breakthrough T1D Fund A Cure, a staple of the Breakthrough T1D Gala program. Guests raised their bid cards enthusiastically, knowing 100 percent of all tax-deductible contributions will fund research for Breakthrough T1D’s most crucial research priorities.
