Kuckelman is recognized for his strong commitment to, and support of, the Breakthrough T1D Kansas City Chapter

New York (July 11, 2018)— Breakthrough T1D, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, celebrates Craig Kuckelman’s noteworthy contributions as a volunteer supporter with the Erwin Lurie Award.

Named after the late Erwin Lurie, who helped found Breakthrough T1D in 1970 with his wife Carol and others, the Erwin Lurie Award is annually presented to chapter volunteers whose commitment to the volunteer/staff partnership has significantly advanced the mission and strategic priorities of Breakthrough T1D over the past year. Kuckelman’s work with the Breakthrough T1D Kansas City Chapter exemplifies his devotion to the local T1D community.

“It is with great pride that we present this award to Craig Kuckelman. He is a strong leader who partners with staff and volunteers to move Breakthrough T1D’s mission forward,” explains Derek Rapp, Breakthrough T1D President and CEO. “Craig has been instrumental in educating supporters about Breakthrough T1D’s T1D Fund and he is a respected volunteer partner for the Breakthrough T1D Kansas City Chapter.”

Kuckleman is an active member of the Breakthrough T1D Kansas City Chapter board and co-chair of the corporate development committee for the chapter’s annual gala. Leading by example, he has an innate ability for sharing Breakthrough T1D’s mission in a way that is compelling to others. As a strong advocate for the Breakthrough T1D T1D Fund, Kuckleman’s support has been paramount in cultivating transformational gifts that yield a high impact to the T1D community.

Breakthrough T1D recognizes and appreciates all of the dedicated volunteers and supporters who commit their lives to the worldwide effort to end T1D. Award recipients received their awards at the annual Breakthrough T1D One Conference.
