Breakthrough T1D and the Georgia Chapter are fortunate to have many outstanding corporate partners working alongside us to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. This year, we are presenting a Corporate Champion Award to a business organization that has championed the cause of Type 1 diabetes through its executive volunteer leadership; its local sponsorship of the Breakthrough T1D One Walk, the Hope Gala, and Tee Up for Diabetes; and its employee engagement and volunteerism. It is our pleasure to recognize Oldcastle as the 2017 Breakthrough T1D Georgia Chapter Corporate Champion of the Year.

We are proud to honor Kristi Moore this year as the 2017 Outreach Champion. Kristi has been a key volunteer in Breakthrough T1D Georgia’s Outreach program since her daughter Amanda was diagnosed over 10 years ago. This past year, Kristi was involved with the T1D Connections Program, a Hospital Ambassador at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Co-Chair of the 2017 TypeOneNation Summit. Kristi’s hard work and dedication to finding a cure for T1D is invaluable!

Trip Stoner

We are proud to award the 2017 Advocacy Champion Award to Trip Stoner. Trip has made a positive impact on Breakthrough T1D’s public policy initiatives and serves on Breakthrough T1D Georgia’s Advocacy Committee. In 2016, Trip founded T1D Day at the Georgia State Capital which is now an annual event which brings teenagers with type 1 from across Georgia to serve as Pages to the state senate and house, giving them a chance to raise awareness for a cause that impacts their life. Trip also traveled to Washington, D.C. this spring to represent Georgia at Breakthrough T1D’s annual Government Day. We are thankful for Trip’s dedication to  advocating for additional public funding for type 1 diabetes research and greater access to care for those with T1D.
