Jake Peichel rallies Del Co to Kick It! for Breakthrough T1D
in General

Geared up in Kick It! t-shirts, more than 50 young Delaware County community soccer stars joined Jake Peichel on November 16, 2013 for a soccer tournament to raise funds for Breakthrough T1D. With just a recommended donation of $5 per player, Jake’s efforts exceeded even his own expectations, bringing in over $1,000 for diabetes research!
“We must have done a good job because we raised $1000 dollars!”
Jake marveled over how “everyone fought hard, but in the end there were two teams in the championship game, Catnip, Catching Fire and What Does A Rock Say? The match was close throughout, but Catnip, Catching Fire prevailed in a 3-2 win.” Congratulations on Catnip, Catching Fire’s victory – just in time for the release of the new Hunger Games sequel!
Jake extended his thanks to all of the volunteers, participants and C & M Sporting Goods for donating the jerseys for the tournament, and in turn, Breakthrough T1D would like to extend an enormous thank you to Jake for conceptualizing, planning, and implementing such a fun & fantastic event!
