Thank You, Cigna!
in General
Cigna Corporation has been a strong, consistent, and dedicated sponsor and supporter for Breakthrough T1D. The Cigna team has supported the Promise Ball for many years and as a Diamond Sponsor for the past two years. During this time, Cigna also supported the North Central CT and Western MA Chapter, Chapter’s Gala with the same sponsorship. We appreciate their multi-state regional partnership for the two Galas.
At the 2008 Breakthrough T1D Promise Ball, Cigna Corporation was honored for its outstanding dedication and commitment to Breakthrough T1D. Guests included Governor Ed Rendell, Breakthrough T1D Founder Lee Ducat, CIGNA Chairman and CEO representing our honoree H. Edward Hanway, and Mary Dougherty, owner of Nicole Miller Philadelphia.
John Murabito, Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Services, at Cigna, is a former Breakthrough T1D Eastern Pennsylvania/Delaware Chapter Board President and is now serving as a member of our Board of Chancellors.
Dedicated to providing innovative programs and services to the members of the community as well as their network of insurance clients, Cigna works alongside Breakthrough T1D in raising awareness about type 1 diabetes.
The 2014 Promise Ball, held April 26, 2014, raised more than $1.1 million funding research that will better the lives of millions of Americans living with type 1 diabetes. Breakthrough T1D has research projects in 17 countries totaling $587 million currently taking place. And since its founding in 1970, Breakthrough T1D has awarded more than $1.8 billion to diabetes research. Breakthrough T1D’s efforts have helped to significantly advance the care of people with this disease and have expanded the critical scientific understanding of type 1 diabetes. We can do this because of the help we receive from our many supporters, including our friends at Cigna.
