You’re invited to rock with us in one month!

Rockin’ Docs for Diabetes Cure presents its 6th annual benefit concert/fundraising event, to be held on Saturday, April 16 at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, PA. The event is open to fans of all ages. All profits will benefit Breakthrough T1D. Last year’s concert featured four established local bands consisting of multiple doctor-musicians from several large hospital centers in the Philadelphia area including: Abington Memorial Hospital, Aria Health, Christiana Hospital, Cooper University Hospital, Holy Redeemer Hospital, Princeton Health Care, RWJ Hamilton Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, Virtua Health, Wills Eye Hospital, and Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. We are excited to have Dan Reed, the on-air host of the XPN Afternoon Show, as our emcee this year.

General admission tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased at World Cafe Live.

Our past Rockin Docs concerts have been a great success. Last year we raised about $55,000. Since conception, we have received extensive media coverage with features in the Inquirer, Local Living magazine, Main Line magazine, the Jewish Exponent, on WMGK and WBEN FM radio, and band appearances on CBS TV and ABC TV. We have also received autographed donations as auction items from the likes of Van Halen, Carlos Santana, Neil Young, and Sheryl Crow to name a few.

Rockin’ Docs was created in 2010 by Kenneth Einhorn M.D., Jeremy Jaffe M.D., and Nancy Wolfson (all of whom are parents of children with type 1 diabetes). While attending a Breakthrough T1D fundraiser, Kenneth and Jeremy discussed how they could contribute to finding a cure. It turned out that both men were physicians and drummers in bands. Together, Kenneth and Jeremy decided to use their musical talents along with Nancy’s (Jeremy Wife) business knowledge to create an event to raise funds for T1D research called Rockin’ Docs. They developed this event with this goal in mind…raise funds for T1D research so that one day, no family would have to deal with the anxiety of learning a loved one has developed diabetes or deal with the burden of fighting this disease themselves.
