Whether in pouring rain or warm sunshine smiling and enthusiastic walkers came together this month in Boston, Lancaster and New Bedford, MA and Lincoln, RI to make an incredible impact on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Thank you to all of our walkers, teams, sponsors, partners, and volunteers we have raised more than $1.2 million! The colorful rain boots, personalized team t-shirts, dogs in bandanas, V1P lanyards, and your incredible support and commitment brought hope to all of us in the T1D community.
Although the events are over, we hope you will still fundraise and keep the momentum going to maximize your impact! Send friendly reminders to people who have yet to give and reach out to people who you haven’t approached before. Tell them about your experience at the event. You may be surprised by how many people respond by making a contribution.
Also, if you haven’t already, ask your employer about matching gifts, and ask your donors to do the same. Matching gifts are the easiest and fastest way to reach or exceed your fundraising goal and multiply your donations!
Finally, think ahead and start planning your fundraiser for National Diabetes Awareness Month in November. Contact us for ideas and best practices, and stay tuned for information on our local campaign in the coming days!
We believe in you and our collective power to turn Type One into Type None.
