We want to thank the wonderful businesses and individuals who went the extra mile during National Diabetes Awareness Month to offer opportunities to enlighten our community and for raising over $13,500 for T1D research.
Amy Gusitsch and Kim Ramsey hosted a wine and paint event at Spark Arts in Bethel. Over 40 people gathered together for an evening of creativity while also enjoying delicious food, wine, a great raffle and the opportunity to make new friends all while supporting Breakthrough T1D.
Myles Wall coordinated a Breakthrough T1D Fundraiser at Elements Food & Spirits in White Plains to support his young son, Jake. This fun evening featured happy hour specials, fun raffle items, along with great food and music.
Lord & Taylor Scarsdale included Breakthrough T1D in the list of charities benefiting from their annual shopping day. This is the second year that they have supported Breakthrough T1D in this popular and successful charity event.
Like last year, Mixology hosted a shopping day and this year they expanded it all 6 stores in the NY Metro area. Their Westchester stores were busy all day with Breakthrough T1D supporters stopping in to pick up some trendy clothes and great accessories. We thank store manager, Jackie Fodiman, for her help and continuing support.
Lola New York hosted a shopping night at their elegant White Plains store. Holiday shoppers found gorgeous clothing, beautiful handbags and unique accessories and enjoyed the opportunity to support Breakthrough T1D! Special thanks to Theresa Stagg for arranging this successful event.
Kelli Sules hosted a Cabi Clothing shopping night. This unique company brings the clothes and accessories to you for a personal shopping experience.
Our friends from Presents for Purpose visited the Westchester Parent Coffee to offer their jewelry and accessories to the attendees and they donated a percentage of the sales to the chapter. Thank you to Leslie Weismann and Alana Kassin for their generosity and support.
Another in-home highlight was the Pampered Chef House Party hosted by Laura Daniels which featured cooking demonstrations, great food and holiday shopping. For those who couldn’t make it to the party, online ordering was available for another week allowing people to support Breakthrough T1D and get some cool kitchen gadgets as well.

Fun was had by all at JoyRide Westport for Lauren Field’s birthday celebration to support Breakthrough T1D.
JoyRide in Westport was the place to be when Lauren Field celebrated her birthday with a Spin Party. Friends, family and fellow spin enthusiasts came together to support Breakthrough T1D while working up a sweat. Plans for next year’s party are already underway.
And just after the month ended, Sigal Hurvitz Bin opened her Formative Designs studio to host a shopping day which included an Artists Reception in the evening. This unique event offered the opportunity to meet NYC designers of everything from furniture to jewelry.
