Breakthrough T1D Ride to Cure is back with 6 destination ride locations!
Breakthrough T1D Ride to Cure is on! We’ve missed being together the past two years and we are so thrilled to be back riding in-person again.
To help fund more research, we ride. To support more families, we ride. To remember the people we love who we’ve lost, we ride. To celebrate every rider living with T1D, we ride. And to help Breakthrough T1D lead us toward a world without T1D in it, we ride.
This year we are offering 6 different destination rides, as well as the option to ride virtually or do your own route through Breakthrough T1D My Ride. Registration is open and there are still spots available at all locations. Check out the destination options below and be sure to follow us on social media to see Ride highlights!
Grand Rapids, MI (June 9-12, 2022)
We’re kicking off the first Ride of the season in Grand Rapids Michigan! This route starts and ends at Millennium Park, and rolls through scenic farmland and small townships to beautiful Lake Michigan. Riders will encounter short rolling hills early in the ride, followed by relatively flat terrain that follows the Grand River. With multiple distance options to choose from, this is the perfect route for all skill levels.
La Crosse, WI (August 11-14, 2022)
Nestled in the heart of the country, the relatively flat route makes this one of our most family-friendly rides that’s also perfect for beginners. And, the scenic views and charm of downtown La Crosse make it memorable for all. Riders will navigate a course that starts in La Crosse and crosses three states, two bridges and one mighty river.
Saratoga Springs, NY (September 8-11, 2022)
This gorgeous autumn Ride starts in downtown Saratoga Springs and follows the Hudson River north on the beautiful country roads of upstate New York through Corinth, Warrensburg and Pottersville. There are route options ranging from 32 to 100 miles.
Death Valley, CA (October 13-16, 2022)
The Death Valley Ride gives cyclists an opportunity to ride up to 100 miles in one of the most desolate locations in the country. Starting at The Oasis at Death Valley, this ride heads south through Badwater over rolling sand dunes and salt flats and culminates with a challenging climb up Jubilee Pass.
Tucson, AZ (November 17-20, 2022)
This ride is a unique opportunity to join Breakthrough T1D’s team in El Tour de Tucson. You’ll ride through the Sonoran Desert with thousands of riders and spectators from all over the world cheering you on, as you experience Tucson’s beautiful mountain vistas and giant Saguaro cacti.
Amelia Island, FL (December 1-4, 2022)
Last, but certainly not least is the crowd favorite Amelia Island Ride in Florida. At this Breakthrough T1D Ride, you’ll cycle along pristine beaches, over marshlands and through beautiful maritime forests for up to 100 miles. You won’t want to miss this island Ride!
