MD Night of Hope Gala: “Pathway to a Cure” Breaks $500,000
in General

On Saturday, November 16, 2013, the Breakthrough T1D Maryland Night of Hope Gala – “Pathway to a Cure” held at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore brought to life the theme, Wizard of Oz. The evening began with a lively and exciting cocktail hour and silent auction. Woody Collins, Executive Vice President of M&T Bank was honored for his philanthropic generosity and our Stars of Hope, Dr. Matthew and Mrs. Duffy Weir, for their longstanding dedication and commitment to Breakthrough T1D. The night was jazzed up by entertainment from Roland Park Country School dancers dancing to various songs from The Wiz, Wizard of Oz and Wicked, followed by DJ Chris Kopec who had guests dancing the night away. The evening raised over $500,000 as Bill Parsons, James and Nick Johnson and Matt and Duffy Weir shared their take on knowledge, courage and heart – needing each one to make type one into type none. Thank you to our committee, supporters, sponsors and volunteers for making this evening a night not to be forgotten.
