Hi! We’re the Breakthrough T1D Mid-Atlantic. You have probably worked with some of us before, but now that we’re one big team we want to take a moment to tell you a little about ourselves:

 

Jaclyn Toll Basse- Executive Director

Breakthrough T1D focus: Overall Chapter Management, Leadership Giving, DC Board Liaison

Fun fact: Enjoying life as a new mom to a 1 year old boy!

 

Kristen Komlosy– Market Director serving Maryland

T1D Connection: A close cousin who was diagnosed 20 years ago

Breakthrough T1D Focus: Maryland Market Lead

Fun Fact: I love spending time on the water with family and friends, hiking, working out and cheering on my sons during their soccer and lacrosse games!

 

Amber Mueller– Market Director serving Virginia

T1D Connection: Best Friend

Fun Fact: I am a twin and have boy/girl 4 year old twins myself!

 

Carrie Zager- Director of Outreach

T1D connection: All the wonderful friends I’ve made working at Breakthrough T1D for 16 years!

Breakthrough T1D focus: Newly Diagnosed, Summit, Outreach Volunteers

Fun fact: I am a native Washingtonian and love rooting for the World Champion Washington Nationals!

 

Meredith Grosser- Senior Development Manager

T1D connection: Son, Jonah, age 13 diagnosed at age 2.5

Breakthrough T1D focus: Operations, Volunteers, Interns, Board Development

Fun fact: I have lived in NJ, OH, CO, TN, and DC. I love to travel too.

 

Stephanie Stuckey- Senior Development Manager

T1D connection: My brother-in-law Rhett has been living with T1D for more than 30 years.

Breakthrough T1D focus: Gala, Real Estate Games, Corporate Partnerships

Fun fact: I grew up in Alexandria and although I moved away for a few years, my kids now attend the schools I attended growing up (which totally blows my mind).

 

Jenny Holmgrain– Development Manager

T1D connection: No direct connection, but have made many since I started at Breakthrough T1D!

Breakthrough T1D focus: Peer-2-Peer fundraising, National Retail Partnerships

Fun fact: I adopted a puppy two months ago and it’s changed my life!

 

Emily Landry– Development Coordinator

T1D connection: Uncle Todd (my dad’s brother)

Breakthrough T1D focus: Gala, Real Estate Games, Young Leadership Committee, Social Media/Graphic Design

Fun fact: I am a Certified Wedding Planner and I’m originally from New Hampshire and went to college in North Carolina.

 

Anna Pishko– Development Coordinator

T1D Connection: All of the T1D warriors I’ve met through Breakthrough T1D

Fun Fact: I lived in a haunted house in college. The ghost was pretty nice- for a ghost!

 

Mindy Sosland- Development Assistant

T1D connection: Oldest son, Zachary, has T1D; he’s 23 and was diagnosed at age 2

Breakthrough T1D focus: Stewardship and Outreach

Fun fact: I met the boy who would become my husband at sleep away camp in Wisconsin (Ramah) when I was 12 years old and he was 13. We have known each other for 40 years. We have only been married for 27 years.
