Candace Reno, PhD, is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes at the University of Utah.
Candace received funding from Breakthrough T1D with an Advanced Post-Doctoral Fellowship and Transition Award to conduct her research. Specifically, Candace studies how low blood sugar due to the treatment of diabetes can lead to fatal cardiac arrhythmias with the goal to find treatments to prevent these devasting arrhythmias. This research is important to better the lives of those affected by diabetes that are at risk for hypoglycemia. Candace received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from California State University, San Bernardino and her PhD from Washington University in St. Louis. She conducted post-doctoral research training at Yale University before being recruited to the University of Utah.
