2018 National Volunteer Week is here! We are grateful to have devoted volunteers who work year round to turn Type One into Type None. We would like to feature our local #EverydayHeroes throughout this week and beyond. It’s an honor to recognize individuals, families and businesses that go above and beyond to serve our local T1D community. Today we are featuring the Omaha I-80 Cosmopolitan Club.

The Omaha I-80 Cosmopolitan Club has supported Breakthrough T1D throughout the last 20 years. Their amazing members volunteer at our annual Vala’s Pumpkin Patch event and Water Station #2 along the Breakthrough T1D One Walk route – their assistance each year is sincerely appreciated! The Club has donated more than $70,000 to Breakthrough T1D’s mission which helps move research to reality for all those affected by type 1 diabetes.

“We are proud to partner with the I-80 Cosmo Club for our annual Vala’s Pumpkin Patch family event which brings together more than 400 people each year. We are truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity that provides a sense of community, support, and day of fun for all our families!” said the Breakthrough T1D Staff.

Thank you, Omaha I-80 Cosmopolitan Club for your dedication to the T1D community! And a very special thank you to Dale & Alice Williamsen, Dave Larsen, Darrin Cook, Terry Weland, and Bryan Morhardt!
