BeeAware Fundraiser to Benefit Breakthrough T1D
John J. Hammond, created a Breakthrough T1D fundraiser in honor of his daughter Katherine “Kat” Hammond, of whom he called Bumble Bee Kat. Kat was diagnosed with T1D at 10 years old and as she grew older she suffered from many health complications including a very painful incurable condition called Diabetic Gastoparesis (DGP). Katherine passed away on January 5, 2017 at the age of 19.
To remember his daughter and to raise awareness about T1D, John is hosting a 3-hour boat cruise fundraiser “BeeAware” on July 20, 2019 with all proceeds benefiting Breakthrough T1D. The cruise includes a lunch buffet, open bar, dancing, 50/50 raffle and more.
