As a company that is focused only on diabetes, Ascensia Diabetes Care takes great pride in supporting organizations like Breakthrough T1D that provide vital advocacy, research and help for people with type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Ascensia has a longstanding legacy in diabetes technology, dating back to our time as Miles Laboratories, Ames and Bayer, and this has continued since we established Ascensia three years ago. “We are Only Diabetes” is a company value that they take great pride in saying at Ascensia. To help truly live this value, they have worked closely with Breakthrough T1D by participating in Breakthrough T1D One Walks & Breakthrough T1D My Ride and promoting the Breakthrough T1D PEAK Program.

This fall, Ascensia employees were determined to participate in Breakthrough T1D One Walk, despite a pandemic. Type 1 diabetes doesn’t take a day off and they wouldn’t either.

Leading up to November, 93 Ascensia employees and their family members joined Team Ascensia and raised almost $10,000 so far!

In addition to lacing up their sneakers, 13 Ascensia employees joined Breakthrough T1D My Ride. The team set a goal to collectively ride 3,892 miles during the month of October. The mileage represents the distance between their Parsippany, NJ and Basel, Switzerland office. They surpassed their goal and rode a total of 4,021 miles and raised $3,348!
