Special Thanks to Outgoing Board Members
The New Jersey Metro & Rockland County Chapter would like to thank two Chapter volunteer leaders who have each had an incredible impact on our T1D community. As Chapter Board members, Mark Monahan and Mark Taddeo have both provided guidance and strategic direction and have worked tirelessly to improve lives and accelerate progress towards ending T1D.
MARK MONAHAN
Mark Monahan became involved with Breakthrough T1D shortly after his daughter Olivia, 22, was diagnosed with T1D in 2010. As a father, he was prepared to do anything he could to find a cure, and until there is a cure, to find better ways to manage T1D. Joining the Board in 2014, Mark has also served as a Golf Classic committee member, run in the NJ Half Marathon and other Breakthrough T1D endurance events, and participated in One Walk. He plans to stay engaged with the Chapter through our many events, and is hoping to add Ride to his vast list of Breakthrough T1D experiences.
MARK TADDEO
Mark Taddeo is a familiar face to many of our Chapter members, serving not only as the Chair for the annual Golf Classic but also as a current Chapter Board member. Prior to chapters merging, Mark was the former Mid-Jersey Chapter Board Chair for four years. He joined the Board shortly after his daughter Claudia, 21, was diagnosed in 2007. In 2016, his family was recognized as “Family of the Year” at the Mid-Jersey Chapter annual Gala. As a seasoned executive in the energy field, Mark brought his extensive personal and business connections together to raise funds and awareness. Mark is committed to supporting Breakthrough T1D for as long as it takes until we find a cure.
Please join us in thanking Mark Monahan and Mark Monahan for their tireless dedication and support over the years. We know they will continue to be integral members of our T1D community.
