T1D School Nurse Training
in Life with T1D, Support
Managing type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the classroom can be a little intimidating for children, parents and the school staff team. Whether your child/student is newly diagnosed, starting a new school year or working with a new school nurse, planning can seem overwhelming.
Breakthrough T1D, in partnership with Michael’s Miracles will host a virtual training for school nurses and staff who are caring for a student with T1D in their school on Wednesday, October 9 from 4:30-6:00 PM (ET).
This webinar is presented by Colleen Clark Chuo, RN, MA, CDCES, CPT. Topics will include hyper/hypoglycemia, sick days, carb counting, technology overview (pumps/CGM), safe insulin administration, special occasions at school. This course is open to school nurses, coaches and staff – anyone in the school setting who can benefit from learning more about caring for your child is welcome to join us.
The course is free but registration is required.
If you would like more information about private training for your school or school district, Michael’s Miracles can help. Please check their programs and services.
