On March 6, 2027, the Breakthrough T1D community will gather at San Francisco City Hall for the 28th Annual San Francisco Gala. This year’s Impact Award goes to Betsy and Dan Wright, in recognition of their extraordinary leadership and commitment to our mission and to the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community.
Their dedication is especially meaningful because no one in Betsy and Dan’s family lives with T1D. Inspired by the T1D community, they stepped up to support and lead our cause locally, and today they count many T1D families among their closest friends.
Dan first became involved with Breakthrough T1D in 2018 as Corporate Co-Chair of the San Francisco Walk, helping raise $1 million that year. Since then, Dan and Betsy have both served on the San Francisco Gala Committee, and Dan now serves on the Breakthrough T1D Northern California Chapter Board.
Dan is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Armada, an edge computing and AI infrastructure company. He previously served as CEO of DataRobot and COO of AppDynamics.
Betsy is Co-Founder and Partner at Elevate Properties, where she develops and renovates single-family homes across the Bay Area. She is also Co-Founder of Bring the Coffee, a nonprofit that provides free coffee to public school teachers in San Francisco. She serves on the Seaver College Board of Advisors at Pepperdine University, where she and Dan both studied.
At Pepperdine, Dan and Betsy helped launch the Waves Innovation Accelerator, a startup incubator for mission-driven founders in the Pepperdine community.
Together, Betsy and Dan support ONEHOPE, a purpose-driven Napa Valley winery that gives a portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold to charitable causes. Over the years, ONEHOPE has generously donated wine and luxury stays at its Estate 8 vineyard to our Gala auctions.
Betsy and Dan live in San Francisco with their three children. As champions of the T1D community and cherished supporters of Breakthrough T1D, they are the people we are proud to honor at the 2027 Breakthrough T1D San Francisco Gala.
