Introducing our 2024 Breakthrough T1D Walk, NorCal, San Francisco Corporate Co-Chairs: Ritu Bhargava and Yaad Oren from SAP

We are thrilled to welcome Ritu Bhargava and Yaad Oren from SAP as our 2024 Breakthrough T1D Walk, NorCal, San Francisco Corporate Co-Chairs. In this leadership role, Ritu and Yaad will collaborate with Breakthrough T1D NorCal staff and volunteers to drive corporate and community support for the Walk. They will connect their business associates and employees with the Breakthrough T1D mission, fostering a shared purpose—to raise funds for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. By rallying a team within their own workplace and leveraging their network, Ritu and Yaad are committed to helping recruit more participants and supporters for this year’s Walk.

Ritu Bhargava, President and Chief Product Officer of SAP Industries and Customer Experience

Ritu Bhargava leads product strategy, development, product management, user experience, security, and operations for the entire SAP I&CX portfolio. Until late 2021, she was at Salesforce as head of engineering for Sales Cloud, its flagship product. Having started her career as an SAP developer, Ritu went on to work at Oracle for a decade, responsible for financial applications in various roles. With extensive experience in enterprise applications and the CX space, Ritu brings a strong market focus, both from a business and engineering perspective, and from an employee-focused and customer-first mindset.

She also co-chairs the West Coast Advisory Board for Asian University for Women (AUW), a Bangladesh-based nonprofit dedicated to women’s education and leadership development.

Yaad Oren, Managing Director, SAP Labs U.S. & Global Head of SAP BTP Innovation

Yaad Oren oversees the strategy and operations for SAP’s largest development hub, with more than 5,500 employees across 20+ U.S. offices. He champions employee engagement, fosters strong ecosystem partnerships, and ensures smooth operations and communication. He also leads location strategy for the largest concentration of SAP’s cloud development talent in the U.S.

Beyond his U.S. focus, Yaad leads the global SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) Innovation. This global team spearheads the adoption and advancement of AI within SAP BTP. They explore emerging technologies and build early-stage products to address the evolving needs of enterprise customers.

Prior to his current roles, he steered SAP’s Technology & Innovation strategy, shaping the company’s technological direction. Since joining SAP in 2005, he has held various leadership positions in development and product management across various product groups.
