JDRF’s Artificial Pancreas Project featured on ‘The Doctors’ show on May 2, 2012

We are excited to share with you that a story on the artificial pancreas aired on May 2nd on the national daytime talk show The Doctors. The segment featured Breakthrough T1D Children’s Congress 2011 Chair and Government Relations Committee member Stefany Shaheen and her daughter Elle. Elle, 12, has type 1 diabetes and recently participated in a Breakthrough T1D-funded artificial pancreas trial at Boston University and Massachusetts General Hospital led by researcher Dr. Ed Damiano.

This is the second time that Breakthrough T1D was featured on the national show. In 2010, Dr. Aaron Kowalski, assistant vice president of treatment therapies, did a live interview with the hosts to discuss Breakthrough T1D’s Artificial Pancreas Project.
