Hello Breakthrough T1D Advocates!
On Tuesday, April 10, 2012, Breakthrough T1D families met with Congressman Bill Flores in Waco as part of Breakthrough T1D’s “Promise to Remember Me” campaign, our first meeting with the Congressman since he was elected to office. Constituents asked Congressman Flores to support the Special Diabetes Program, a critical program for funding type 1 diabetes research.
The meeting was a complete success because Congressman Flores has agreed to cosign the request letter and join the Diabetes Caucus!

The Greater Dallas Chapter is still trying to schedule “Promise to Remember Me” meetings with Congressman Jeb Hensarling and Congressman Louie Gohmert. If anyone has a connection to these offices and can secure a meeting for Breakthrough T1D before the end of April 2012, please contact Kim Roosevelt at kcroosevelt@yahoo.com.
The “Promise to Remember Me” campaign ends on May 1, 2012.
Thanks to all who attended a meeting!
