Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Walk to Cure Diabetes such a success! Despite chilly temperatures, we were warmed by the thought of so many gathering to help turn Type One in to Type None.
A few key dates to remember:
Friday, November 7th is the pledge deadline for donations to be taken into consideration for prizes.
Saturday, December 13th is the awards reception. Award reception invites will be emailed out shortly so keep an eye on your email. All teams raising $1,000 or more as well as all individual walkers raising $1,000 or more will receive an invite to the Columbus Blue Jackets game on December 13th. There is still plenty of time to turn in your donations. Outstanding donations can be mailed or dropped off to the office through November 7th to qualify for prizes.
Team Plaques: All teams raising over $1,000 this year will earn a team plaque. Please let us know if you do not wish to have a plaque ordered for your team as we do not want to waste any of your hard earned dollars. All teams will be automatically opted in unless you respond otherwise.
Matching Gifts: If you haven’t already, check to see if your company participates in a matching gift program. Click here for a listing of some companies that participate. Encourage your walkers to do the same!
Matching Gift Contest: Send us proof of your matching gift request by November 7th to be entered into a drawing for 4 tickets to the December 13th Columbus Blue Jackets game!
School Walks/ Fundraisers: See if your child’s school would like to hold a Walk or other fundraiser. Give us a call for more information or “like” the Breakthrough T1D Kids for a Cure Facebook page today!
