After John and Rosemarie’s daughter Dana was diagnosed with T1D, the couple began designing and selling greeting cards to raise money for critical diabetes research. Several years later, they launched MORETHANCARDS.COM with the aim of raising even more money for Breakthrough T1D.

Over the past ten years, the Feeney’s have designed and sold over 1,900,000 greeting cards and contributed over $1,900,000 dollars to Breakthrough T1D for diabetes research. Proceeds of their card program (roughly 30 cents on the dollar) are donated directly to Breakthrough T1D to fund research (after design, printing and distribution costs).

More Than Cards is back again this year to serve your holiday greeting card needs while donating a up to 30% of the proceeds to Breakthrough T1D. This annual fundraising campaign is an easy way for individuals and families to support Breakthrough T1D and diabetes research to prevent, better treat and cure diabetes. Greeting cards for all seasons can be purchased online at www.breakthrought1d.org/cards

About Breakthrough T1D
Breakthrough T1D is the leader in research leading to a cure for T1D in the world.  It sets the global agenda for diabetes research, and is the largest charitable funder and advocate of diabetes science worldwide.

The mission of Breakthrough T1D is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.  T1D is an autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults, and can be fatal.  Until a cure is found, people with type 1 diabetes have to test their blood sugar and give themselves insulin injections multiple times or use a pump ““ each day, every day of their lives.  And even with that intensive care, insulin is not a cure for diabetes, nor does it prevent its potential and devastating complications, which may include kidney failure, blindness, heart disease, stroke and amputation.

Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with T1D, Breakthrough T1D has awarded more than $1.5 billion to diabetes research, including $107 million last year. More than 80 percent of Breakthrough T1D’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education.
