T1D Connections Program – Local Support Resources

We have multiple options to provide support to those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) or caring for children with T1D. Through the T1D Connections Program, Breakthrough T1D Upstate New York provides in-person and virtual support groups for our community members.

Summer Fun Days

Join your local T1D community for some fun in the sun at the following locations:

August 10, 2024 from 1PM-3:30PM

Saratoga YMCA (20 Old Gick Rd, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866)

Bring your sneakers! This fun day will be held at the Wilton Branch Saratoga YMCA in their fabulous field house! Tons of snacks, games, and activities provided.

August 17, 2024 from 1PM-3:30PM

Liverpool Public Library (310 Tulip St, Liverpool NY 13088)

Join us for a Luau! Snacks, yard games, activities, vendors, and of course Leis!

August 25th from 1PM-3:30PM

Fireman’s Park in Tonawanda (318 Two Mile Creek Rd, Tonawanda, NY 14150)

T1D Connections Meetings

Our in person T1D Connections program allows families of children 6-11 years of age and their caregivers to meet in person once a month. Supervision of the children is provided as well as games and activities. The parents/caregivers will have guided conversations in a separate space.

Breakthrough T1D Community Summit

Join us on October 19, 2024 for an in-person educational summit that brings the T1D community together. Breakthrough T1D community summits are a morning of education where you can talk to experts about research advances, meet with other attendees to network and exchange ideas, and participate in discussions important to you. This summit will also include a kid’s area for children ages 6-12

Breakout session include educational sessions from The University of Rochester at Strong, and the Joslin Diabetes Center. Registration has not opened yet, please follow our social media or email mseefeldt@breakthrought1d.org to register.
