We are so pleased to announce that Tanya Bissen will be joining Breakthrough T1D as Executive Director of the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter.  Her start date will be August 1st.

Tanya comes to us from the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Foundation, where she spent the last eighteen years building relationships and raising funds for the important work done by Children’s Hospital.  In her most recent role, she led individual and corporate giving including managing a portfolio of over 175 key supporters to the hospital system.  An important achievement during that time was the initiation of a junior fundraising board, called Leaders who C.A.R.E. – a group comprised of next generation philanthropists with an affinity for pediatric medicine.  Tanya also had leadership responsibility in special events fundraising and annual giving.

She received her B.S.M. from Cardinal Stritch University and has completed a certificate program in Human Resource Management.  Additionally, Tanya participated in the Future Milwaukee Leadership Program, from which she received a completion certificate in 2010.  Her community involvement includes involvement with Women for MACC (board member), Meta House – 50th Anniversary, and the St. Agnes Parish & School.

On a personal note, Tanya is the mother of three girls, whom – undoubtedly – keep her busy when not engaging donors and volunteers in her professional capacity.
