Introducing the Rock Star of Hope Award
in Fundraising

Benefiting the Georgia Chapter of Breakthrough T1D, Rock the Cure is an annual Brews and Blues event featuring the best Georgia has to offer in live music, local brews, great food and exciting raffle prizes. Each year Rock the Cure is held at SweetWater Brewery in Atlanta. Since its inception in 2007, Rock the Cure has raised more than $600,000 for T1D research.
In conjunction with the 10th Anniversary of Rock the Cure, The Breakthrough T1D Georgia Chapter and the Board of Directors have decided, to annually recognize an individual who has had a significant impact on the T1D community through Rock the Cure. This individual is someone who has supported the event’s fundraising efforts, volunteer efforts, and overall success. The award will be called the Rock Star of Hope Award.
We are very proud to announce that the first recipient of this award will be Mr. Spears Mallis!
Spears has T1D and he has lived with is for many years now. He was a founder of Rock the Cure in 2007 and is its number one advocate. SweetWater has been a tremendous host because of his family’s unique relationship with the owners. Spears has recruited countless sponsors and attendees over the years and continues to make new corporate and family introductions to Breakthrough T1D and Rock the Cure.
Please help us congratulate Spears on this very exciting honor!
Donations to Breakthrough T1D will grant entry into the event starting May 2nd – visit the Rock the Cure website for more details!
