35 Faces of the Breakthrough T1D One Walk: Meet Brooks
in Fundraising
35 Faces, 35 years of Walking, 35 Reasons to Give
Hi, my name is Brooks. I was recently diagnosed with T1D in December 2015. Right after I was diagnosed, my parents jumped right in and wanted to get involved with Breakthrough T1D. My mom attended a Pink Barre fundraising class and joined the Ride team! She is riding in Amelia Island this fall. I am very excited to have a walk team this year! I picked the name “Brooks’ Buddies Beating T1D” and can’t wait to have all my friends walk with me. My mom set our team goal at $7,500 and has been sending letters, e-mails and posting on Facebook about my team. A cure means to me means not having to deal with carb counting, insulin dosing, past and future activity considerations, and less worry on my family. I want people need to know about T1D. Keep the noise level up – continue to tell the stories, share the pictures.
Please consider supporting Brooks’s fundraising efforts by donating to his Breakthrough T1D One Walk team here.
