Announcing the 2017 Spears Mallis Rock Star of Hope Recipient

in

Breakthrough T1D Georgia’s annual Rock the Cure is a Brews and Blues event featuring the best Georgia has to offer in live music, local brews, great food and exciting raffle prizes. SweetWater Brewery has been the home of Rock the Cure since its inception in 2007. With “a little help from our friends” like you and SweetWater, Rock the Cure has raised more than $700,000 for T1D research.

In celebration of Rock the Cure’s 10th year Rockin’, the Breakthrough T1D Georgia Chapter and it’s Board of Directors introduced the Spears Mallis Rock Star of Hope award in 2016. The Rock Star of Hope is awarded to an individual who has made a significant impact on Breakthrough T1D’s mission through their support of Rock the Cure.

We are very proud to announce that our second Spears Mallis Rock Star of Hope award recipient is Shannon Bradshaw!

As a board member and active participant in Breakthrough T1D since 2006, Shannon has been one of Breakthrough T1D Georgia’s biggest advocates. Starting in 2008, Shannon and her company have been actively involved in Rock the Cure, with Brand Mortgage being our presenting sponsor since 2012. Shannon jumped in, all in, just a few weeks after being diagnosed. As most of you know, Shannon is a fighter and has been fighting for the success of Rock the Cure since the day she joined on and has helped grow this event into a $100,000+ event. She has enhanced the guest experience, and engaged multiple in-kind. Needless to say this event would not be where it is today without Shannon.

Please help us congratulate Shannon on this very exciting honor!

To see more about Shannon’s story or to contribute to her personal fundraising efforts, go to:  secure3.convio.net/jdrf3/goto/ShannonBradshaw. Please save the date for Sunday, May 21st at 1:30pm – Shannon is organizing a charity ride at Flywheel Midtown in support of Rock the Cure. We hope you can make it!

Tickets will go on sale for our 11th Annual Rock the Cure, Monday May 1st. Please visit www.jdrfrockthecure.org for more information.
